FILM ENTRY

The International and National Competition Programs of the 14th Odesa International Festival will take place from August 19 to August 26, 2023, in the city of Chernivtsi.

 

This year, the Odesa Film Festival announces a call for films in two competitive programs:

  • National Competition Program (feature films)

  • International European Competition Program (feature films)

 

Applications will be accepted from April 28 to June 1, 2023 (until 14:59:59)

 

NATIONAL COMPETITION PROGRAM

Ukrainian feature films of all genres, including fiction, non-fiction, animation, and experimental films, whose production was completed in 2022 or 2023, are eligible to participate in the National Competition Program.

 

During the film festival, winners of the National Competition Program will be determined in the following categories:

  • "Best Ukrainian feature fiction film";

  • "Best Ukrainian feature documentary film";

 

The following award is provided for winning the National Competition Program:

  • The director of the participating film, who is the winner in the nomination for "Best Ukrainian feature fiction film", receives the statue "Duke";

  • The director of the participating film, who is the winner in the nomination for "Best Ukrainian feature documentary film," receives the statue "Duke";

Additionally, at the discretion of the National Jury, the films participating in the National Competition Program or members of their creative teams may be awarded no more than 2 (two) Special Diplomas of the National Jury.

 

INTERNATIONAL EUROPEAN COMPETITION PROGRAM

European feature films of all genres, including fiction, non-fiction, animation, and experimental films, completed in 2022 or 2023, are eligible for submission to the International Competition Program. The program is open to participants from all member countries of the European Union and associate members of the EU.

During the Film Festival, winners of the International European Competition Program in the "Best European Feature Film" category are determined. The director of the participating film, which is the winner in the "Best European Feature Film" category, receives the "Duke" statuette.

In addition, at its discretion, the International Jury may award no more than 2 (two) Special Diplomas of the International Jury to participating films or members of their creative teams.
